Today, with our headquarters relocated to Rockville, MD, it is primarily an educational and philanthropic organization. There are chapters and members in cities and dental schools in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Israel, South Africa and Australia/New Zealand. Alpha Omega represents about 6,000 active dentists and dental students worldwide.

Alpha Omega is responsible for the formation of both dental schools in Israel: The Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dentistry and the Tel Aviv University Maurice and Gabriela Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine. The Alpha Omega Foundation was also responsible for dispersing almost $250,000 this past year for projects in Israel and worldwide.

Over 100 friends, family, graduates, and dignitaries gathered at the Temple Dental School in Philadelphia to observe the unveiling of the Tree of Peace sculpture. The beautifully significant sculpture was donated by Temple Dental Alumnus and Alpha Omega member, Dr. Allen Finkelstein in honor of his children and grandchildren.

The sculpture is a reminder of the strides being made to create a legacy of global peace through the profession of dentistry. Allen had previously donated a Tree of Peace sculpture to the Hebrew University, Hadassah School of Dentistry, founded by Alpha Omega in blessed memory of his parents.

Pittsburgh Chapter Reunion Dinner2012-05-08T19:35:28Z2012-05-08T19:35:28Zhttp://www.ao.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=626:pittsburgh-chapter-reunion-dinner&catid=182:chapter-news&Itemid=185Heidi Weberhweber@ao.org
April 26, 2012

On a rainy Thursday in Pittsburgh, 28 chapter members and spouses gathered at a reunion dinner to reaquaint and hear updates about AO. It has been several years since the chapter officially met, but the warm feelings about AO were still apparent. Many of the members attended Pitt Dental and the strong connection to Pittsburgh was evident.

Frater Mort Wintner spearheaded the reunion dinner and invited Association Director Heidi Weber to attend. She provided a brief overview of the activites that AO is involved both locally, nationally, and internationally. AO is very excited that these members shared an evening of fraternal fellowship and hope to have another event in the fall.
