Alpha Omega The Oldest International Dental Organization

Alpha Omega is the oldest international dental organization in the world and was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1907 by a group of dental students originally to fight discrimination in dental schools. 2010 marks another milestone in our storied 103 year history as Alpha Omega welcomes our first female International President, Dr. Charlene Berkman of Bayside, New York. Concept of the Global Oral Health Initiative
A Project of the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity

Spekto photo 3.jpgAlpha Omega International Dental Fraternity (Alpha Omega) is a 100+ year old organization, founded by Jewish dental students at the University of Baltimore and Philadelphia dental schools in 1907. Alpha Omega’s charge was to raise awareness of these issues and to stand up when race or creed was used to make decisions concerning dental education and practice.

We are still the voice of the Jew in dentistry, and, to that end, we continue to be vigilant in speaking out against anti-Semitism, discrimination and insensitivity, wherever it shows it’s ugly head. Our younger members have expressed interest in social action and so we spent considerable time on discussion of better ways to provide community service.
